Trip Introduction

Bethanchwok, on the southern hills of Kavrepalanchwok, is believed to be the highest peak of the Mahabharat Range. This hill is located at an altitude of 3000m from the sea level and offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding hills and Himalayan ranges in the north. On a sunny day, some places of Makwanpur and Janakpur can also be seen from the top of the hill.
At the top of the hill, there is a small temple named Narayanan. This temple is crowded with devotees during the Fagu Purnima every year. The peak is usually known as Narayanthan rather than Bethanchowk. People also refer to it as the King of the Hills.
